We’re GCHQ, a world-leading intelligence, cyber and security agency. Our mission? To unlock the complex world of communications and keep the UK safe. Working closely with our partners in the intelligence community, we protect the nation’s people, interests and businesses from threats including serious and organised crime, terrorism, and cyber-attacks.

We work with cutting-edge technology every day, which means we rely on world-class IT support services to ensure our operations run smoothly. Now, you have an opportunity to join our team. As someone full of enthusiasm about a career in IT, you’ll provide technical support while learning from our friendly team of experts. In return, we’ll provide dedicated support and training to further your professional and personal development – so you can focus on making a real contribution to our national security.

We’ll shortly be recruiting for the following roles:

IT Event Management Analysts

Working within the Event Operations team on a 24-hour shift pattern, you’ll ensure our IT Service Desk, Incident Management and Communication Centre meet our operational needs.

IT Event Definition Engineers

In this technical role, you’ll design and support an early warning service for potential system failures and use unique software applications to identify when things don’t look right.

IT Service Management Professionals

Working with support teams and partners from the intelligence agencies, you’ll work across the IT lifecycle in one of several different areas, managing requests, preventing issues, and developing solutions that assist decision making.

The application window for our IT Delivery roles will open on 5th September 2022 @ 1000.  In the meantime, we encourage:

  • All those from an ethnic minority background
  • Women (of any background)

to register their interest for these forthcoming opportunities*.

As part of the registration of interest, you will be invited to several online events prior to the campaign opening. There will be Insight Events where you can find out more about the role. We are also offering a Skills Event which will provide general tips about completing a job application, preparing for interview etc. These events will run on:

Insight Events – 31st August 2022 (1pm and 6pm)

Skills Event – 2nd September 2022 (1pm)

The events will last for approximately 1 hour.

Please note that a registration of interest does not constitute a job application, nor will such registration have any bearing upon the recruitment process itself.  Any individuals who register their interest and who decide subsequently to apply for these roles, will need to complete an application form once the window for applications has opened.

* We are confining registrations of interest to these groups only, due to their current under-representation in our workforce. Once the application window has opened, we welcome applications from all candidates, regardless of their ethnic background, gender, and/or any other characteristic(s). Please check our nationality eligibility criteria requirements. All applications will be assessed solely on merit.
