We’re MI5, MI6, and GCHQ - part of the UK’s Intelligence Services. We work together to safeguard Britain’s people, interests, and businesses from various threats at home, overseas and online, including cyber-attacks, espionage, terrorism, and organised crime. Working across our vital missions, you’ll deliver impact at the heart of national security, all within a supportive and inclusive environment that allows everyone to thrive.

The application window for the Persian Language Specialists will open in Autumn 2024.

In the meantime, we encourage candidates to register their interest in this upcoming opportunity.

Do you have good Persian skills and hold British Citizenship or dual British nationality?

Would expanding your language skill set and sharing your cultural knowledge and understanding of Iran interest you?

Then now’s your chance to use your Persian expertise to help shape UK government policy in one of our critical mission areas.

Working at the heart of intelligence, you’ll use your language and analytical skills to provide intelligence insights that often have a direct impact on UK government policy and decision-making.

As a Persian Language Specialist, you’ll seek out the important information from a wide range of Persian language material, making the information accessible and understandable to others. It’s gripping work, which will draw on your judgement, people skills, and linguistic and cultural expertise every step of the way.

We welcome applications from all candidates, whether you have grown up using Persian or have formally studied it, as well as from those with knowledge of Tajiki and Dari.

The roles are based in Cheltenham, Manchester, and London.

While you wait for the application window to open, you can register your interest.

A registration of interest does not constitute a job application, nor will such registration have any bearing upon the recruitment process itself.  Any individuals who register their interest and decide subsequently to apply for the Persian Language Specialist campaign will need to complete an application form once the window for applications has opened.

By registering you will also receive access to an exclusive virtual session, where you will find out more about the UK Intelligence agencies and the Persian Specialist role, and can ask questions before submitting an application.

We look forward to hearing from you.
