THE ROLES

TRAINEE DATA SPECIALIST

Love problem solving? Here’s where you can turn that passion into protecting the nation. As a Trainee Data Specialist, you’ll learn how to collect, monitor and assure data processing, providing the insight our analysts need to fight terrorism, cybercrime and serious crime. With advanced training, guidance and support, you’ll have everything you need to kick-start your data career at the forefront of intelligence.

Upon successful completion of an 18-month development programme, you’ll be placed in a team at one of our sites. If you’re asked to relocate after 18 months, you’ll be given assistance, in the form of relocation reimbursement costs, up to £1,000.

TRAINEE INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

Are you curious about Tech and want to work with Intelligence?  Here’s your chance to make a difference and turn that passion into protecting the nation. As a Trainee Intelligence Analyst, you’ll get a mix of classroom-based learning and on the job training. We’ll tailor a development programme to you, and you’ll soon discover ways to grow in knowledge, developing expertise in a range of technical skills from Network Analysis to Data Science. Determination and endless encouragement along with a willingness to learn will give you everything you need to kick-start your career at the forefront of intelligence.

TRAINEE SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Are you an Innovator who has creative ability and relishes a challenge?  Here’s where you can turn that passion into protecting the nation. As a Trainee Software Developer, you’ll learn how to code across a variety of languages and technologies. Whether you bring development experience or not, what matters is that you’re ready to solve the unsolvable. With a training programme tailored to your needs along with a mentor to guide and support you, you’ll have everything you need to kick-start your career at the forefront of intelligence.

TRAINEE IT ENGINEER

A wizard with all things IT? Here’s where you can turn that passion into protecting the nation. As a Trainee IT Engineer, you’ll be providing a vital service to the nation’s security. From simple installations to fixing faults, performing upgrades and removing hardware at the end of its useful life, you’ll get involved in all kinds of projects. With  full training, guidance and support, you’ll have everything you need to kick-start your IT career at the forefront of intelligence.

REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 2 GCSE’s grade 5 or above (Maths and English), or equivalent.

You must also demonstrate evidence of:

•    A real enthusiasm and curiosity for learning and keeping up to date with technological advances.
•    Ability to communicate with others.
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Although consideration will be given to your stated job preference, the final decision of which role candidates are placed in will be determined by GCHQ.

SALARY

Salary of £20,981 (including concessionary payment).

LOCATION

Bude (located an hour’s journey from Exeter and Plymouth).
