At MI5 and GCHQ, we protect the UK from threats including terrorism, espionage and cyber crime. It’s important work, so ensuring we have the right products and services to do it is vital. On our Procurement Internship, you’ll spend 12 months with our procurement department, providing essential support to the UK’s intelligence agencies.

During your time with us, you’ll gain a real insight into how our procurement team supports our overall mission. You’ll assist with the delivery of products and services and contribute to the decision-making process. This is a role where you’ll be encouraged to get involved every day.

This is a unique opportunity to work with the intelligence agencies and acquire skills and experience relevant to your studies. Throughout the internship, you’ll be guided by a task manager and mentor who’ll shape your personal development and learning. And after six months, you’ll rotate into another area, such as Estates, Technology, and Operations and Overseas, to give you even greater exposure to our work.

The application window for the Procurement Internship will open on Wednesday 13th October 2021. In the meantime, we encourage:

All those from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background *

To register their interest in this forthcoming opportunity. As part of the registration of interest, you will be invited to an online event prior to the campaign opening to explain the work of our Procurement Team in more detail and provide more insight into working at our unique organisations. Depending upon the level of interest, we may also offer a second session. We will be inviting people on a first come first served basis, so sign up now to avoid missing out on hearing what it’s like to work for MI5 and GCHQ in our Procurement Team.

*Please note that we are confining registrations of interest to the above group only, due to the current under-representation in our workforce.

A registration of interest does not constitute a job application, nor will such registration have any bearing upon the recruitment process itself.

Any individuals who register their interest and who decide subsequently to apply for the Procurement Internship will need to complete an application form once the window for applications has opened.

Once the application window has opened, we will welcome applications from all candidates, regardless of their ethnic background, gender, disability and/or any other characteristic(s).  All applications will be assessed solely on merit.

Register your interest here.
