We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join our Internal Audit Team as an Operations Manager.

THE ROLE

The mission of the Internal Audit function is to provide independent assurance to the Accounting Officers and Management Boards over the effectiveness of the organisations’ system of internal controls. In executing its mission, Internal Audit aims to improve the organisations’ operations through its systematic, transparent and risk-based approach to evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. This in turn supports the agency to achieve its mission and strategic objectives.

The Internal Audit Operations Manager will coordinate and manage the administration and operational activities within and on behalf of the entire Internal Audit function, including performance, people and financial management.

Key responsibilities will be:
•  Managing the IAC Administrative and PA Support team, including day to day requirements, and support for Internal IAC meetings and events;
•  Managing the reporting and monitoring process for audit performance, including audit delivery, action tracking, input to Audit Risk and Assurance Committees and other key executive and senior management committees
•  Supporting the annual audit planning process;
•  Supporting the ongoing maintenance of the Internal Audit methodology, including the associated quality assurance processes, and developing and supporting the audit management system;
•  Supporting people related activities including recruitment and induction activities, and the reporting requirements to support resource management;
•  Supporting IAC stakeholder engagement activities;
•  Managing the IAC Training and Development requirements;
•  Managing IAC communications, including maintaining the IAC intranet website;
•  Maintaining the IAC Business Continuity plan;
•  Managing IAC budget analysis and reporting.

REQUIREMENTS

•  Self-starters who need minimal supervision to fulfil their primary role and responsibilities;
•  Excellent administrative and organisational skills;
•  Excellent reporting and communication skills;
•  Ability to establish good working relationships with team members and stakeholders;
•  Experience in working for senior management and able to work under pressure to tight timescales, on own initiative and as part of a team;
•  Ability to prioritise own workload and be proactive;
•  Ability to think laterally and continually improve processes and ways of working to improve the overall working environment;
•  Commitment to equality, diversity and promotion of a positive and partnership culture;
•  Qualification in Internal Audit or experience of working in Internal Audit is highly desirable as several key tasks such as managing the annual audit planning exercise, maintaining the Internal Audit methodology and maintaining the audit universe will require a strong insight into internal audit standards, processes and accepted good practice;
•  Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and Data Analytics tools to create visual and interactive reports;
•  A knowledge of project management disciplines is highly desirable.

SALARY

Salary of £41,638 – £50,898 depending on location (on a pro rata basis),

London and/or Cheltenham (located within an hour’s journey of Birmingham and Bristol)

Travel within the UK is essential, with a possibility of occasional overseas travel.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

GUARANTEED INTERVIEW SCHEME
