Are you a British national with strong skills in European languages? If so, you may be interested to learn that GCHQ will soon be offering an exciting opportunity to join our staff as a Language Analyst.
We’ll be looking to recruit in the following languages for positions in Cheltenham:
Any TWO of the following:
French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish
OR
Greek, Polish or Dutch, either on their own or in combination with another language
If you have, or are a final year undergraduate on track to attain, a 2:1 degree in the above languages we’d love to hear from you.
We welcome people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures who bring with them the breadth of skills and experience that we need. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of a variety of communities and languages isn’t just an advantage, it’s crucial for our work. We’ll be looking for well-motivated people who are comfortable with IT and happy to work in a constantly changing technological environment. You’ll also need to have drive, initiative, perseverance, and a naturally enquiring and analytical mind that’s capable of looking beyond the obvious. However, you don’t need to be a technical expert as full training will be provided.
In return, we offer a starting salary of £26,743 with the potential to earn over £30,000 within three years.
