The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the UK’s authority for cyber security advice and incident management. It is a fundamental part of how we aim to make the UK the safest place to live and work online. Part of GCHQ, the NCSC manages national cyber incidents, provides an authoritative voice and centre of expertise on cyber security and delivers tailored support and advice to departments, regulators and industry. We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join our United Kingdom Key Production Authority, NCSC as a Key Production Software Developer.

THE ROLE


To support our mission we have a Full Time opportunity for a Software Developer within the United Kingdom Key Production Authority (UKKPA) Department.

Providing a key role in our mission, we are looking for bright, dynamic, self-motivated person to support our production systems.  They will need to be adaptable and able to switch between different IT systems.

Candidates should have a relevant technical background, including experience writing and maintaining scripts.  They will need to be able to quickly adapt to using an unusualoperating system and the ability to acquire knowledge of the REXX programming language.

You will be working within a small team.

Each role comes with its own unique training package however, we do ask that you have an interest in learning new technical skills that will assist with building your career within GCHQ.

REQUIREMENTS

A relevant IT degree.
Requirement to pick up new IT Skills quickly.
Experience writing new scripts, maintaining, and enhancing existing scripts.
Skills to investigate production problems.
Ability to quickly acquire new technical skills, and can work accurately when using them.
On occasions, lead a small team.
