We are currently looking for a Deputy Head of Internal Audit (Technology) to join our internal audit and consultancy team.

THE ROLE

As Deputy Head of Internal Audit (Technology) you’ll be a key member of the Internal Audit senior leadership team leading the Technology Audit team and programme.  This is a challenging and rewarding role where your contribution will make a real difference.

You’ll be accountable for the design and delivery of the technology audit plan, providing key technology stakeholders with timely and insightful assurances over a range of technology areas including; IT governance and strategy, information security; cyber security; infrastructure; applications and databases; engineering; portfolio, programme and project management and IT services delivery management.  

You will be able to influence and facilitate change, expertly strengthening the internal control environment, while supporting the business to achieve the mission.  You’ll manage the Internal Audit team by developing and supporting their career plans, while contributing to the execution of the resourcing strategy and training and development programmes.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for talented, flexible and committed individuals from all audit backgrounds with proven technical audit and risk management knowledge. For success in this role you’ll have:

• Experience of audit testing methodologies, data analysis, root cause analysis and strong report writing skills
• A CISA qualification with an in-depth knowledge and experience of Technology auditing.  
• Strong audit management experience with the ability to engage, inspire and motivate people.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the the ability to build networks and work collaboratively with business areas to influence and support key decisions.

LOCATION

London and/or Cheltenham (located within an hour’s journey of Birmingham and Bristol)

Travel within the UK is essential, with a possibility of occasional overseas travel.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

The first thing we will ask you to do is complete our pre-screening questions to find out if you meet our initial criteria. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible to apply, you must be a British Citizen. One of your parents must be a British Citizen or must have one of the nationalities or citizenships from one of the following: British Overseas territory, British subject, British National (Overseas), British protected person, citizenship of the Commonwealth, EEA nationality, or citizenship of the United States of America. If deceased, have had such citizenship or nationality before death. If you hold dual nationality, of which one component is British, you will nonetheless be considered. If successful, you will not normally be required to give up your non-British citizenship but, as a condition of your employment or secondment, MI5 may impose restrictions on your postings, work travel and/or general use of that nationality. Candidates must normally have been resident in the UK for seven out of the last ten years. This is particularly important if you were born outside the UK. Each case will be carefully considered on its own facts.
