This GC10 position is an operational role within GCHQ, responsible for analysis of industrial systems  data and making recommendations. This post is part an analytical team, the successful candidate will play a role in informing and shaping HM government outcomes. GCHQ is offering you an exciting opportunity to use and develop your skills by joining us as a Specialist Technical Analyst, critically you will enjoy piecing together how an industrial control system might work. Working in one of our core missions, our Specialist Analysts solve complex problems building up industrial systems knowledge. They are naturally curious, enjoy digging deeper to make connections and patterns to understand the bigger picture. They use their technical skills on tasks and projects to triage, understand, analyse and disseminate data. Informing and recommending courses of action to key stakeholders and explaining technical concepts to a non-expert audience.

The technical knowledge will range from the function and capability of specific pieces of equipment through to understanding the role they play in the wider industrial setting. Topics could include manufacturing systems, power generation/distribution or other industrial systems.

We’re looking for individuals with a keen interest in and understanding of the practical applications of industrial systems and processes. The successful applicant will need to have either a:

2:2 degree (or equivalent) or above in a relevant subject (Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or similar topic covering industrial processes)

or

STEM GCSE's grade C (4) and above plus at least two years Industry experience in applying Physics/Chemistry/Electrical Engineering/similar in a practical way involving understanding industrial systems and processes.
