ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

GCHQ has a large pool of Knowledge and Information Management professionals and our roles are split across a number of teams, with responsibilities including:

• Provide high quality customer service, advising colleagues on best practice information management.
• Manage GCHQ’s Archives and corporate record.
• Ensure our electronic document and records management (eDRM) systems are fit for purpose and used effectively.
• Work with stakeholders throughout the business such as Policy and Legislation to ensure we meet our obligations in protecting and managing information.
• Facilitate effective and appropriate sharing of knowledge and information.
• Empowering GCHQ communities to work together and collaborate by providing knowledge sharing platforms including a social media tool.  
• Deliver an effective and professional corporate intranet.
• Provide advice to colleagues and other government departments on information matters in line with our obligations under legislation including the Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act.
• Work with policy and technical communities to ensure information management principles and understanding of risks are embedded at every stage of our information system development.

For all posts we expect candidates to demonstrate an interest in and/or experience of working in an Information Management role, for the Practitioner and Team Leader roles candidates are required to have a degree in Information Management or a related subject.

Information Management skill level 1: We would expect individuals to demonstrate an interest in and understanding of information management and an awareness of good practice.  

Information Management skill level 2: We would expect candidates to have a strong knowledge of information management and experience of delivering information services.

SALARY

Salary varies depending on skills and experience. Entry level salary is £18,920, with junior salary starting at £26,743, and senior level starting salary of £33,580.

LOCATION

Cheltenham (located within an hour’s journey of Birmingham and Bristol) and London.
