CyberFirst Student Bursary

If you’re looking to kick start your cyber career, our CyberFirst Student Bursary offers you a combination of financial help and opportunities to develop your cyber skills on real projects.
CyberFirst is a key part of the UK government’s National Cyber Security Programme, designed to identify and support talented young people in their cyber careers. The bursary scheme could include:

•    An annual bursary of £4,000 for each year of study in a STEM or Social Science degree
•    Paid summer work with GCHQ or other parts of government or industry involved in national security, for each year of study. This will be a mix of training, learning and development, and work experience – all designed to give you the best possible start for your cyber career
•    The possibility of three years of work in a cyber security role after graduation
•    Membership of the CyberFirst student community, giving you the chance to gain peer mentoring and advice from cyber security experts.

You’ll need to be a UK national with three A-levels or equivalent at grades A to C, including two in STEM subjects, and an offer to study an undergraduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM), or Social Science subject at a UK university starting autumn 2016.

The scheme opens for applications this summer (2016), but students can register their interest now to be notified when the campaign opens.

This Program / Vacancy is closed to applications.
