We have a number of vacancies for accountants and senior accountants in both financial and management accounting roles across our specialist teams. Our accountants need to have excellent technical skills to support decision making across the business.

We offer a career in finance with a broad range of roles in a unique environment, from core finance through to supporting customers in our project and programme community, operational business units and internal audit.

Our senior accountants must be CCAB/CIMA fully qualified including letters, and with relevant post qualification work experience, our accountants must be near qualified and actively studying. Previous staff management experience is needed, and for senior accountants a willingness to coach and develop others in Finance. Strong IT skills are needed for both MS Office Applications and core Finance ERP packages, Oracle Financials R12 is desirable.

All our accountants need good interpersonal skills with evidence of successful support of non-financial skilled customers, and the ability to work under pressure managing tasks across teams to tight deadlines with a problem solving approach.

Senior Financial Accountant GC8 (£39,500 - £44,800) + benefits

•    Delivers the annual accounts to timetable, managing interactions with our external auditors and Audit Committee, knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP;
•    Leads the preparation of monthly and annual financial accounts and manages the preparations for interim and final external audit visits;
•    Reviews and interprets any changes to HM Treasury financial accounting guidance, advising internal customers;
•    Oversee all fixed asset accounting processes, including the annual Asset Note and the impact of revaluation exercises.

Senior Management Accountant GC8 (£39,500 - £44,800) + benefits

•    Production of monthly MI for a large business area or programme working to the deadlines of the monthly reporting timetable;
•    Liaising with business managers or project/programme managers ;
•    Providing financial advice and guidance to technical and business customers
•    Supporting the business/programme area during the annual corporate planning round, ensuring data is accurate and realistic;
•    Support quarterly Governance reviews in allotted business area/programme;
•     For accountants working in Internal Audit : audit reviews and reporting across the enterprise.

Accountants GC09 (£31,000 - £35,000) + benefits

Typical responsibilities may include:

•    Production of monthly financial programme/business area MI to timetable;
•    Month end close down of the ERP’s accounting modules;
•    Manage the accounts payable process for the whole organisation including scheduling, managing cash flows and external customer liaison;
•    Ongoing assurance of the financial data for allotted business areas;
•    Looking for financial  process improvements on an ongoing basis;
•    Supporting system changes and improvements to the ERP;
•    For accountants working in Internal Audit : audit reviews and reporting across the enterprise.
