Programme Management Office (PMO)

Role:  Project Controls Officer (PCO) - GC10

Responsibilities:

As a GC10 Project Controls Officer you will be highly organised and a good communicator.  You will be typically engaged in collating data and reporting back to the project; accuracy and thoroughness are vital to this role.  You will need to demonstrate an ability to identify and analyse problems, draft reports and use logic and persuasion to influence stakeholders and project leads. You will also need to be unfazed by change as the PMO continues to evolve to meet the changing business needs.

You will need to show that you can work effectively in a multi-team environment, are comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels and are able to contribute to the continuing development of the Programme Management Office.  

Typically you will be involved in delivering high-value activities including:
•    Ensure adherence through expert input to agreed project tools (e.g. finance, planning, risks and issues)
•    Organise and manage the project heartbeat
•    Guidance on PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies
•    Support and co-ordinate key project and project lifecycle meetings
•    Provide support to the project manager and team on governance issues
•    Stakeholder management

You will receive On the Job Training (OJT) supported by a small set of courses to help you familiarise yourself with the toolsets used and the working environment.  There are plenty of opportunities for further development and to attaining PRINCE2 Practitioner status should you choose to. A PMO career pathway is continuing to evolve within the PMO which will also provide opportunities to become a Project Manager later in your career.

We operate a flexible working policy, however a minimum of 30 hours will be required.

•    Eligibility – You must be a UK National and eligible to work in the UK

•    Interview – The interview will be competency based and will focus on you being able to provide evidence based examples. Please do not bring any examples of your work with you as we are unable to use these
