GCHQ is offering you an exciting opportunity to join our world class research team as a Vulnerability Researcher.

Tasked with finding vulnerabilities in some of the world's most complex software, we invest in training, development and infrastructure to provide our researchers with the time, space and expertise required to find critical security vulnerabilities in some of the most widely deployed software used by UK government, industry and citizens. You’ll see credits for our vulnerability research from many major software vendors. In this role, you’ll be able to plan and tackle technical challenges and work jointly in a small team. Continually striving to improve your research, you’ll develop tools, techniques and tradecraft to keep us at the cutting edge of our field.

REQUIREMENTS

We’re looking for motivated individuals from all backgrounds, who have deep technical skills along with the patience and determination required to find serious vulnerabilities in critical software, including mobile, desktop, browsers and embedded devices.

You have a good understanding of low level coding (assembly, C or C++) and are familiar with vulnerability and exploitation techniques, or you have experience in an industry or academic technical research environment.

Most importantly you have a willingness to learn and keep up with the latest developments in your field.
