GCHQ is offering you an exciting opportunity to join our IT Services Team as an IT Infrastructure Engineer.

Our business is always evolving and we tackle ever more demanding customer requirements. As a high calibre engineer, you’ll understand customer needs and work closely with your team to deliver creative solutions.

You’ll design, implement, support and maintain a complex and technologically advanced IT Infrastructure, as well as working collaboratively with well-known vendors such as CISCO, and JUNIPER.

Our infrastructure roles include:

Data Transfer; High End computing; Information Assurance; Networking; Data Centre Management; Big Data Analytics; IT Event Monitoring; Database Management; IT Security End Point protection; Identity and Access Management and Cyber Access Support.

REQUIREMENTS

We’re looking for motivated individuals from all backgrounds, with excellent technical skills and a constant desire to stay on top of technology. You have, or will soon have, successfully completed a degree in a relevant subject OR have experience in one or more of the following areas:

Networking, Desktop Infrastructure, Data Centre Management, Systems Administration, Storage and processing infrastructure, IP Telephony, IT Event monitoring, Corporate antivirus/malware, Second line support, Software Development, IT Security concepts and implementation, Cloud Technologies such as Lambda, Kinesis, Windows/Linux operating systems, Programming languages, Open source software, Database skills, IT Security concepts and implementation, System design/delivery/Integration/Operation, Lifecycle Management, ITIL related activities including Asset Management, Information Assurance, Web Design, Computer Network Exploitation.

Any experience in the following is advantageous:

Cisco ISR, ASR, Nexus, BGP, MPLS, DMVPN, Java, Python, Database, Monitoring/logging tools (nGenius/Splunk), ITIL

Other accreditations will also prove valuable in these roles such as ICND (Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).

After successfully completing the necessary training there may be a requirement to be included as part of the 24 hour on-call pager roster.
