GCHQ is proactive in offering Part Time and Flexible working arrangements in many of its roles, this allows individuals to vary the times they start and finish work each day.

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the 3 areas and subject to a 3 year occupancy period, where they will be able to develop their IT skills.  

Roles include:

IT Service Desk
The IT Service Desk provides a unique opportunity to learn about IT at GCHQ in a helpdesk environment.  This team provides first line IT support to customers through investigation of fault reports.  Responding to customers queries via telephone, email, self-service fault logging and instant messaging, the successful applicant will use Remote Screen Takeover tools and an extensive range of knowledge repositories to quickly restore service.  The right candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a desire to learn, ability to work within small and medium-size teams and good communication skills.  
(Rota between the hours of 0800-1600 or 0900-1700)

IT Access Management  
The IT Access Management team provides an excellent opportunity to learn about IT at GCHQ.  The team is responsible for providing customers with IT accesses and/or accounts across the IT infrastructure through various administration tools.  The role is customer driven and focuses on granting accesses to meet business needs.  The right candidate will have good customer service and communication skills, a desire to learn and is comfortable working on a range of tasks. Good team working skills are essential.

UKKPA
The UKKPA Department is responsible for providing cryptographic material to customers across Government and Industry. There are also opportunities to be involved in major change projects which focus on transitioning the more traditional physical cryptographic material to electronic format. These roles will require excellent customer service skills and attention to detail is essential in order to deliver an excellent service to a unique customer base. The right candidate should have an aptitude for IT, an analytical mind and a problem solving approach to work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new skills through structured on the job training. Good team working skills are essential.


REQUIREMENTS for these roles

You must have the following:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A- C (Including Maths and English)

You will also be required to complete 3 questions within the application process which has a pass mark set and those successful candidates will be invited to complete a short online test.
