Analysts are at the heart of GCHQ’s mission - turning data into the critical intelligence that helps to protect the UK. Our analysts work with large amounts of complex data, understanding and interpreting it to find the crucial intelligence within.

Requirements

GCHQ is an innovative organisation looking to recruit people with strong intellectual curiosity and analytic skills to join as intelligence analysts. To succeed in this role you will need to have a keen interest in technology and current affairs. We are looking for people who can work collaboratively, share tasks and ideas, contribute to projects and quickly build good relationships with peers. You will also be able to work independently, manage your own tasks, and meet challenging deadlines and rapidly changing requirements. Alongside this you will have proficient oral and written communication skills.

Our world will keep changing and you will need to demonstrate commitment to regular development of your own knowledge and skills, particularly in the areas of technology, current affairs and analysis. You will learn the use of new and emerging analytic tools and techniques, so you will need to have a genuine interest in technology and communications trends. Because we offer a full Analysis Development training Programme, you’re not expected to come to us with a wealth of technical knowledge or skills on day one! The programme, delivered in a supportive training environment, includes a wide range of training courses including, forensics, data, networks and encryption followed by a consolidation period where you be will assigned a mentor to help you grow and develop your newly acquired skills.

We require all candidates to have a minimum of a 2:2 degree in any subject.

On-Line Test – Assessment Centre/Interview

Location

We have a number of roles available in various locations in the UK. There is an expectation that you may move at some point in your career to take up future postings in different locations. We will discuss preferences of locations during the assessment process, as availability of locations will be determined by business priorities.
