In IT services we manage and maintain the IT capability GCHQ needs to meet business demands and the pace of the mission. This involves developing healthy partnerships with key areas, IT industry, partner agencies and academia. Most importantly, we support the business, providing efficient, affordable and innovative solutions to meet their needs. Using our expert knowledge of Service management we demonstrate the art of the possible, while maintaining the right balance between stability and agility.

We provide a variety of services that enable different areas of GCHQ to work effectively. We have teams providing front-line support, which we record, identify and resolve incidents and problems. We also, plan and manage systems changes, oversee systems transitions, releases and deployment. Other specialist areas we cover are managing software assets, IT accounts and configuration management and practitioners in a technical environment.
All roles require good customer service skills, a proactive attitude and ability to work positively in an ever changing environment.

REQUIREMENTS for these roles

We are a very customer orientated area therefore good customer and interpersonal skills are essential. You need an ability to adapt to changing environment; you will need to be able to think outside the box.
Trainee level – IT qualifications and or proven aptitude for technology learning. Customer Service experience would be advantage. Experience of Oracle-based systems and/or factory environment useful.
Competent practitioner – good customer skills, willingness and the ability to learn, knowledge or experience in any of the ITIL/Service Management process would be advantage
Senior Practitioner – knowledge and or experience in any of the ITIL/Service Management processes essential, staff management experience.


INTERVIEW and SELECTION PROCESS

•    Technical Sift
•    Interview
