Do you enjoy using data, technology and scientific approaches to solve problems? Our Communications Technology Analysts working in our Intelligence Operations teams do.  They analyse the communications behaviours and technologies of our adversaries.  The role involves developing and using analytic tools and techniques for a range of operational mission requirements. You will be working alongside other analysts, developing new ways to analyse data, and acting as a conduit between deep technical specialists and intelligence and security delivery teams.  Our Communications Technology Analysts are generally specialists in one area, such as telecoms network analysis, geospatial analysis, internet communications technologies or crypt analysis.
Some of our Communications Technology Analysts are specialists in weapons systems analysis, where they apply technical analysis skills to weapons data and relate the results to system capability. Modern weapons are complex systems comprising leading-edge technologies, sophisticated information processing and communication: the UK needs to maintain a detailed understanding of foreign threat systems in the interest of national security. These roles present an opportunity to play a valuable part in informing UK defence planning and procurement, making a vital contribution to the nation’s kinetic and cyber capability. Over time, we will support you to become a recognised expert in your field. These roles might suit someone with a military technologist or defence industry background.
Our data science specialists use large scale data programming languages and data mining skills to analyse mission problems and influence operational decision making. These specialist roles range from pioneering new analytic capabilities against operational problems at high tempo, exploring new or unfamiliar data sets to solving strategic analytic challenges.
