Our teams
We build products that provide capability across MI6. Our multi-disciplinary stripy capability centre teams are made up of architects & engineers who work alongside product owners, business analysts and delivery colleagues to ensure MI6 gets what it needs balancing tactical and strategic goals and objectives.

What you’ll do
Our Enterprise Architects work across the organisation to ensure we deliver a coherent and effective technology offering that directly supports the needs of our business. They support our Capability Centre architects in setting the long-term vision and strategy of our organisation and managing the coordination across the different delivery steams and architecture domains.

Working to the Head of Enterprise Architecture you will:
-    Develop and Maintains Business Capability Model Artefact
-    Develops Future State Business Arch Options
-    Perform Business Architecture Options Assessment
-    Manages business arch & technology risk and escalate as appropriate.
-    Provides Capability Centres with Business Context.
-    Be responsible for E2E Capability Integration
-    Conducts Architecture Governance inc Assurance, Compliance, Interoperability, Risk and Change.
-    Builds and communicates the Enterprise Technology Roadmap, making recommendations as to the order and prioritisation of work
-    Develops and manages architecture principles
-    Support architecture practice development, operation and maturity growth
-    Support framework, viewpoint and modelling approach.
-    Ensure architecture information is under configuration control and accessible through the modelling platform and to house style

Who you are
You will have experience of working in a modern Enterprise Architecture deliver team supporting fast paced customer product delivery teams working across technology domains in a data-orientated organisation coupled with a strong understanding of business architecture.

The ideal candidate will have:
-    Previously worked in architecture or systems engineering functions.
-    Have experience developing portfolios and/or running change programmes
-    Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical colleagues.
-    Proven ability to use architecture tools and techniques to deliver business benefit.

Learning and development is central to our engineering ethos and we invest heavily in our people. As part of your MI6 career we will support you in broadening and deepening your technical and non-technical skills. We have access to a wide variety of classroom and online learning, as well as our own development programmes and schemes. We work with external bodies such as the Institute for Engineering and Technology and the British Computing Society to support and fund accreditation for our staff, which could be in a specific technical area or more broadly, such as becoming a Chartered Engineer.
