About us

We’re the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6. We work with the UK’s foreign partners to support global stability by combating international terrorism and the spread of weapons. We work secretly around the world, gathering intelligence to promote and protect the UK’s interests and help stay ahead of our adversaries.

The role

As a Delivery Manager, you’ll set out your strategic vision and make sure we can deliver multiple projects across different workstreams. Everything you do will help to achieve agreed benefits and outcomes – all of which will keep the UK safe.

You’ll also be responsible for building and motivating collaborative teams. You’ll proactively look for other ways you can support the team and develop their skills. As an influential person, you’ll effectively communicate with a whole range of stakeholders and customers.

Plus, you’ll manage other Delivery Managers and project managers, whilst supporting them to deliver results using Agile and Lean practices. With excellent attention to detail, you’ll also be accountable for effective budget management, including monitoring projected budgets against expenditure. As part of this, you’ll always look for opportunities to drive down costs.

About you

You’ll have experience of delivering bespoke IT solutions as part of large, complex projects. Your background means that you’re able to effectively navigate challenges, ambiguity and different pressures. With a consistent approach to planning, forecasting and reforecasting, you know the value of paying great attention to detail. It means you can mitigate risks and escalate to boards and committees when needed.

As a confident leader, you’re experienced at setting out your vision and establishing critical success factors. This means you can also work at pace, solve problems quickly and make sound decisions. Focused on outcomes, you’re experienced at challenging and improving operational processes that impact teams. And with the ability to manage different dependencies, you’ll always keep an eye on the bigger picture.

Importantly, you’ll be keen to use your experience to deliver unique projects in support of our mission, using Agile and lean tools and techniques.

Training and development

We’re hugely committed to your personal development, so you’ll benefit from a broad range of development and training opportunities. As soon as you join, you’ll be supported to achieve your full potential. You’ll quickly understand what we do and how we do it, including how we operate overseas. And because we value professional skills, we’ll also offer you an additional allowance to develop in these areas. We also support flexible working arrangements and actively encourage a healthy work-life balance.

You’ll receive a starting salary of £62,324 plus £5,128 skills allowance and other benefits including:

-    25 days’ annual leave, automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years' service, and an additional 10.5 days’ public and privilege holidays
