Flexible Working: We support full-time, part-time, compressed and flexible hours. We’re committed to offering remote working in our organisation, however, our ability to do so is dependent on role requirements and business need.

About Us

MI6, also known as the Secret Intelligence Service. Our mission is to protect the security and economic wellbeing of the UK from overseas threats such as regional instability, terrorism, and cyber-attacks. Working across the globe and in close partnership with MI5 and GCHQ, we help the Government to counter these threats through the provision of secret intelligence. A role in MI6 will see you providing vital support to this work, within a supportive and encouraging environment that puts the emphasis on teamwork.

The Role

If you have a passion for delivering change and you’re looking for a unique opportunity to develop your business change and business analysis skills, there’s never been a better time to join MI6. As an entry-level Change Analyst, you’ll gain experience in a challenging environment as part of a forward-thinking team, as you help to deliver projects and programmes that protect the UK.

You’ll join a Business Analysis or Change development programme to learn on the job, working on projects that will transform our organisation and help us solve the challenges we face. You’ll take on different change-related tasks, whether that is stakeholder management or business analysis. Depending on your strengths, you’ll elicit, define, and assess user requirements using a wide range of tools, and facilitate workshops. Or, you’ll develop and maintain process maps, undertaking gap analysis with an eye to maintaining benefits throughout our transformation.

Working alongside Change Managers or Business Analysts to develop your skills, we’ll provide you with a strong understanding of our vision, enabling you to support the planning of change implementation and ensure that change is delivered in line with our strategy. Finally, you’ll use your communication and planning skills to draft high-level communications plans, ensuring all stakeholders are on board with our vision.

About You

We’re looking for people who have an aptitude to learn and grow. Ideally, you’ll have had recent experience working in a project environment, or in a role where you’ve had an opportunity to apply change or analysis skills. While qualifications in a project, change, or an analysis-related role would be beneficial, it’s far more important that you have a proactive approach plus some experience of working in a project environment.

You’ll be comfortable communicating with people at all levels of our organisation, whilst demonstrating attentive listening as well as analytic and observation skills, to understand stakeholder needs and analyse the operational challenges. You’ll constructively challenge the status quo, showing an understanding of how we work and how we can improve.

Training and Development

When you join us, you’ll have a full induction to the organisation, which will help you get to grips with how we operate. You’ll then have a team induction to give you a rounded understanding of your role, followed by on-the-job training to help you settle in.

We’re committed to developing our staff and recognise this will look different for everyone. There’ll be lots of tailored training, coaching, and mentoring from experienced change and analysis professionals, alongside promotion opportunities. As a Change Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to work toward professional qualifications too, such as APMG Change Management Foundation and Practitioner, BCS Business Analysis Diploma or PROSCI.

Whatever your professional goals, we’ll work with you to build the skills you need to excel at your role, and throughout your career.

Rewards and Benefits

You’ll receive a starting salary of £36,733 - £42,445 plus other benefits including:

  • 25 days Annual Leave automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service, and an additional 10.5 days public and privilege holidays
  • Opportunities to be recognised through our employee performance scheme
  • Interest-free season ticket loan (parking and travel)
  • Excellent pension scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Facilities such as a gym and restaurant, and on-site coffee bars (at some locations)
  • Paid parental and adoption leave

Equal Opportunities

At MI6 diversity and inclusion are critical to our mission. To protect the UK, we need a truly diverse workforce that reflects the society we serve. This includes diversity in every sense of the word: those with different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, ways of thinking and those with disabilities or neurodivergent conditions. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from everyone, including those from groups that are under-represented in our workforce such as women, those from an ethnic minority background, people with disabilities and those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
