About the role

As part of the Estate Services team you will provide Health & Safety, Technical, Commercial and Operational management input in support of all Estate Services outsourced contracts.  

As the Specialist Contracts Manager you will oversee hard services, catering, environmental and cleaning contracts.  You will also be the liaison for contracted works.

The position does not have a formal management role; however it does require virtual management of a large team of contractors and external consultants to ensure both successful project delivery and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities

Monitor the operation and maintenance of the hard services contract.  Liaison with the maintenance contractor and the Building Services Manager to ensure sustainable strategic control of energy and water usage, compliance with all applicable legislation and ensuring the maintenance contractor performs to contractual obligations.  

Manage the operation of soft services cleaning and catering contracts, including liaison with relevant contractors to ensure sustainable, strategic control of the catering and cleaning provision. Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.  Responsible as Contract Manager for ensuring contractors perform and meet all contractual obligations, including assessing and monitoring against all key performance indicators and service level agreements.

Manage the operation of minor outsourced services, including waste management.

Oversee data capture to optimise contract performance and manage transition and contractor mobilisation or demobilisation as required for all services.

About you

To become a Specialist Contracts Manager for MI6 you will have a proven track record of delivery in a related field, with strong written and verbal communication skills.  

You will be a customer focussed manager with a solid understanding of outsourced/in-house contract models, contract management, facilities management delivery and the drive to develop the services you oversee.

You should have a sound financial and commercial knowledge together with the experience of cost management within various elements of facilities management service delivery.
 
Qualifications

You will have a solid background in FM Health and Safety supported by recognised qualifications such as NEBOSH together with a good understanding of materials handling, risk assessments, permits to work, and method statements.

Recognised membership, or working towards membership, of a professional body such as BIFM/CIBSEE/IMech/IET Level 3 or equivalent.
