Join MI6 – or as we’re more formally called, the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) - and use your experience of supporting IT systems to address challenges that are fundamental to intelligence gathering and ultimately help safeguard our nation.    

Role

As a 1st line technical support analyst you will provide IT support and advice on a wide range of services to MI6 officers around the globe. Successful applicants will begin by joining either the Service Desk or the 24/7 Event Management team to gain 1st line experience and learn about the Service. Once trained there will be opportunities to move into a range of other IT Service Management roles such as Incident, Request and Change Management.

Although much of this work is based in London, working normal office hours, there will be opportunities to travel overseas to provide on-site support and training.

This is a highly rewarding role which will allow you to learn about the service, and develop your skills for further IT Service Management roles within MI6.

Skills and qualifications

IT Service Management or technical qualifications are essential for this role and candidates should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving. Experience working within the ITIL framework would be preferable.

Candidates must have strong customer service skills and a courteous manner with an ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, both verbally and in writing. You must be able to demonstrate a level of empathy with officers who may be working in high pressure environments.

The department has a strong focus on continual service improvement and we are looking for candidates who take a proactive approach to identifying and implementing changes.

You must be a team player, have strong inter-personal skills, and an ability to collaborate well with colleagues across the Service.
