At MI6, the threats we face are ever-evolving. We operate globally, keeping the UK safe. So in this unpredictable world, we need the country’s finest legal minds. People who want a career with a real purpose, that challenges them every day.

The Role

In this small, specialist team you’ll work with like-minded individuals, providing expert advice across public sector employment, PI and commercial legal matters. The focus may be on employment law but you’ll also deal with a variety of corporate issues, and readily respond to any other emerging situations.

It’s about confident independent working, while also being a team player with strong communication skills. Proactive and conscientious, you’ll handle complex queries with ease and authority. Plus, with a credibility that inspires trust and support from your colleagues, your decision-making will be both informed and collaborative.

Requirements

To join us, you’ll be degree-qualified with sound PQE experience from a leading city, national or regional law firm or a barrister from a respected set of chambers. Employment law experience is essential, while having a background in handling other common law matters would be an advantage. Above all, you’ll enjoy applying your skills and expertise for one, single reason: protecting the nation.

Selection Process

To apply to MI6 you must be a born or naturalised British citizen, over 21 years old and normally have been based in the UK for six of the last ten years. You should not discuss your application with anyone other than your partner or a close family member providing that they are British. They should also be made aware of the importance of discretion.
