Job Purpose

Be the link between the business and transformation programmes, working with teams across the organisation to identify and define improvement opportunities. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, helping to shape and deliver the Service’s initiatives that will contribute to promoting and protecting the UK’s national interest both at home and overseas.

About the Role

As a business analyst in MI6, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders and other project and programme professionals, utilising your unique skill set to elicit requirements, identifying problems and assist in the delivery of improvements to our operational and business processes.

Routine tasks may include:

•    Working with the business to elicit, capture, prioritise and analyse requirements.
•    Leading the facilitation of workshops to identify and elaborate requirements.
•    Quality assurance of requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria.
•    Defining improvements to processes, documenting as-is and developing to-be processes to identify gaps and enable future changes.
•    Supporting engineering and test teams by creating understandable requirements with testable criteria for satisfaction.
•    Collaborative working with other government partners.
•    Stakeholder analysis and engagement.
•    Sharing knowledge and understanding to help mentor and develop our entry level analyst community.

About you

•    You will have a proven track record with at least 2 years employment as a Business Analyst in the last 4 years.
•    Experience of using Waterfall or Agile project methodology and an awareness/knowledge of others.
•    Inquisitive in nature, interested in investigating service problems.
•    Ability to communicate and build relationships effectively.
•    BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or other formal Business Analysis qualification is desirable, but not essential. A well evidenced experience within the CV will carry equal weight.
