Role

• As a Demand & Capacity Manager at MI6, you will be responsible for ensuring that both new and existing services have sufficient capacity to meet current and future demand.
• You will develop and maintain Capacity plans which allow internal teams to effectivity plan resources and evaluate how new demand will impact forecasted growth.
• Build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence and improve existing processes.
• Play a key role in the Demand and Capacity Management Board where demand is presented, prioritised and impact-assessed.
• Maintain alignment to ITIL V3 Demand & Capacity processes and procedures.

You will be responsible for establishing, running and managing the Demand & Capacity Management processes for IT infrastructure across MI6. You will ensure that compute resources are used efficiently and work to deliver financial savings through appropriate governance and procedural refinements. You will help the Service Management team to report on existing services and assess new business requirements that have an impact to live service.

This role will also regularly:

• Define, collate and analyse monthly Demand & Capacity data to be reviewed by stakeholders and presented at appropriate senior management boards.
• Manage the relationship between internal project teams and hosting services to ensure new deliveries are sized correctly.
• Define KPIs and analyse resulting data to support and inform new initiatives which further assist with the efficient management of available infrastructure.
• Review Service Operations reporting, ensuring Incidents and Problems that relate to a Capacity constraint are driven to resolution by the appropriate team.
• Proactively prevent Capacity related Incidents through the identification of risks/issues and creating service improvement plans.
• Assist the Service Analyst with the generation of reporting specific to your area.
• Assist and support the Service Delivery Management function.

Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, mandatory qualifications include;

• 3 A Levels or equivalent
• A BSc (Hons), HND, or a HNC level qualification and/or relevant experience in a similar role.

Desirable qualifications include:

• ITIL (v3) Foundation Accreditation
