Join MI6 and use your service management experience in an IT field to support an organisation that protects the national security of the UK.


Role

• As an Info Sec Accreditor at SIS, you will work closely with teams across the organisation and Intelligence Community to Risk Manage, Assure and Accredit SIS Internal Information systems as secure and fit for purpose to process and store SIS/UKIC information.

• Ensuring that internal information meets HMG, SIS and Industry security standards, and that residual risks are agreed and accepted by the business.

• Conducting ISMS compliance audits, identifying practices that do not conform to agreed security controls and working with system stakeholders and asset owners to realign those controls.

• Performing the duties of InfoSec Accreditor, assessing the levels of compliance with approved security controls to determine the performance of the SIS security posture, and consequently influence security policy.

• To liaise with Other Government Department accreditors and security professionals, ensuring SIS InfoSec implementations reflect HMG requirements and practices, whilst imparting SIS best practice where appropriate.

• To provide security advice and guidance to system project teams and Security Working Groups for SIS systems, in response to HMG InfoSec requirements.

• To support the annual security review and reaccreditation process for all internal SIS information systems, ensuring that any issues are addressed and, where possible, remediated.


Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, minimum mandatory qualifications include:

InfoSec Practitioners Course AND
InfoSec Accreditors Course AND
Three years (Minimum) experience working in an IT/Comms Technical or Security Architectural Role, ideally in a High Classification (HMG Government Security Classification (GSC) Tier 2 or 3) environment.


CESG Certified Professional CCP certification (now NCSC) is desirable at the minimum ‘Practitioner’ Level for Accreditor but the successful candidiate will be expected to achieve this within one year of taking up post if not already held.
