Role

• As an Availability Manager at SIS, you will support the Service Delivery Management function which owns and manages all IT services. You will continually optimise and proactively improve the availability of the IT infrastructure, the services and the supporting organisation in order to provide cost-effective availability improvements that can deliver business and customer benefits
• Ensure the agreed level of availability is provided.  The measurement and monitoring of IT availability is a key activity to ensure availability levels are being met constantly
• Assist with the diagnosis and resolution of availability-related incidents and problems, working with teams across the service
• Instigate proactive measures to improve the availability of services and components, working with teams across the service

You will be centrally involved in the day to day monitoring of existing live services, ensuring they remain fit for purpose, including the management of: the associated risks; the availability requirements and the capacity constraints. You will assist in the planning of effective service monitoring, ensuring performance targets are achieved whilst identifying issues and creating service improvement plans.

This role will also regularly:

• Collate and produce monthly Availability and KPI Reports to be reviewed at Assurance Review Boards
• Develop platform availability reporting by analysing and categorising incidents.  Share reporting and escalate trends to the Service Delivery Managers for consideration.
• Run monthly KPI review meetings to review availability, perform a scrub of figures and take forward actions to improve availability and accuracy of reporting based on the current trends being reported.  This may include instigating and overseeing technical, procedural or behavioural changes working closely with service operations and delivery teams.
• Continue to work with Service Operations to ensure reporting continues to improve and that any changes to processes and tools also consider current and future MI reporting requirements.
• Assist the Service Analyst with the generation of reporting specific to your area.
• Assist and support the Service Delivery Management function


Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, mandatory qualifications include;

• 3 A Levels or equivalent
• A BSc (Hons), HND, or a HNC level qualification and/or relevant experience in a similar role.

Desirable qualifications include:

• ITIL (v3) Foundation Accreditation
