MI5, MI6 & GCHQ, known as the UK Intelligence Agencies (UKIC) is responsible for protecting the UK from threats to national security including terrorism, espionage and cyber-crime. To help us combat these complex and evolving threats we are currently looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to both lead and deliver key stakeholder engagement in support of our leadership team. The role provides direction, support and advice to enable UKIC to run a modern and efficient financial service.

The Role
As the Senior Finance Business Partner your excellent communication and business engagement skills will enable you to help deliver key goals with senior management both in the Finance team, across other organisational departments and our partners. Your analysis and guidance will enable senior stakeholders to make strategic financial decisions. a key member of the UKIC finance leadership team reporting directly to the Deputy Director and Director of Finance.
•    You will be a key member of the UKIC finance leadership team reporting directly to the Deputy Director and Director of Finance and provide strong leadership to colleagues across UKIC.
•    You will provide, support and financial planning to top management by proactively engaging with key senior stakeholders, partner organisations and suppliers.
•    You will co-ordinate activity to ensure business performance is understood, providing the information and analysis to ensure intelligent decision making and provide feedback that decisions taken are enacted.
•    Ensure resources are allocated to provide best value and provide advice and options to enable optimisation to maximise the impact of delivery.
This role also requires you to be a proven post qualified financial CCAB/CIMA accountant with experience, ideally within a large public body.

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead strategic thinking, central planning and management of global resources on behalf of the business and provide analysis, professional (financial and commercial) advice and guidance to key senior stakeholders to support strategic decisions and delivery whilst always promoting a cost conscious culture.
•    As the business partner lead you will be responsive to senior leadership customers providing them with expert advice so as to ensure that the business achieves the greatest possible impact against strategic objectives for the funding provided.
•    Work with partners on resourcing and funding issues and deliver options to the business where changing priorities require prioritisation of resources to particular missions. By providing guidance and forecasting you will ensure appropriate governance measures are met and help enable prioritisation and resources are balanced for requirements.
•    Work with Heads of Finance and Commercial teams to support professional staff development to ensure high standards of financial and commercial management and advice are met and that best practice is shared across the business.

Skills and experience
•    Qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant with experience of settling key accounting policies, reviewing and approve key financial reports, taking accountability for key financial transactions and resolving key issues of propriety.
•    Ideally a proven track record of working in large public sector finance teams.
•    Experience of working on developing and leading Financial Projects, Programmes and Business change would be preferred.
•    An excellent communicator capable of delivering difficult messages and engaging and inspiring large multi-disciplined groups.

Recruitment Process

If successful at the telephone interview, you will be asked to attend an assessment centre consisting of a short presentation exercise and a competency based face to face interview to further explore your skills and motivation for the role. Eligibility Criteria
