The Finance team ensure our financial resources are managed effectively to enable us to deliver our mission critical work.

Role: Financial Analysis/Management Accounting (broadly equivalent to Civil Service Grade 7)
Location: London
Salary: £62,493 - £68,631 depending on skills, qualifications, and experience

Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for analysis of the ledger to understand the financial position and support the team to produce financial reports. Through developing a detailed understanding of the management reports audience, you will commission solutions and oversee the delivery of prompt, accurate management reports, translating data into meaningful outputs, with a breadth of reporting across internal and external environments, whilst providing narrative using compelling and persuasive language, to influence and challenge.

You will maintain a strong understanding of the overall financial position of assigned business areas and provide incisive variance explanations and clear summaries/interpretations to senior management. You will ensure that the management reporting meets end user needs and is presented in a medium to best convey key messages using continuous improvement philosophy/principles.

You should be qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent or working towards qualification and have demonstrable financial experience over an extended period of time.


Role: Strategic Finance (broadly equivalent to Civil Service SEO)

Salary: £49,346 - £53,211 depending on skills, qualifications, and experience

Summary: In this role, you will need to develop a strategic understanding of the business, its stakeholders, and deliverables. You will be expected to own the leadership of processes and products to support Financial Planning, Fiscal Events and build and maintain the single point of contact relationship with counter parts in the HMT Spending Team. You may also be responsible for leading on the delivery of set pieces, commissioning work, leading the collation of responses / outputs and resolving issues presented. In this role, you would be required to understand the bigger picture of the delivery in your team and commission and collate with confidence, often asking senior stakeholders to complete delivery, sometimes on short deadlines.
You will lead on areas of ownership for preparation and delivery of Spending Review and Fiscal Events, as well as lead the translation and add insight to financial data to support key discussions across the organisation and with HMT. You will also be expected to lead on the drafting for briefing to seniors (Senior Civil Servants) and Ministers and providing ad-hoc analysis and presentations.
You should be either CCAB or CIMA qualified, with relevant experience in strategic/policy roles and strong numeric ability.

Summary: In this role you will be responsible for producing the monthly financial reporting to meet budget holder’s needs. You will lead on the preparation, interpretation and presentation of in-year financial information into the monthly financial reports. In this role you will provide assurance on integrity of information on financial systems, advising on the correct accounting treatment of complex transactions. You will also provide financial analysis and insight, through meaningful variance analysis commentary including risk management, mitigating actions, deep dives or financial modelling. Our Financial Analyst’s also ensure effective controls are in place to maintain accuracy of data in financial systems and ensure that the team delivers the month end activities in a timely manner and to the required standard.

You will need the ability to effectively manage a team, develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and be able to effectively negotiate with stakeholders. You will have a Level 4 qualification with AAT, CCAB or CIMA, and be qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent or be working towards this. You will have demonstrable financial experience accumulated over an extended period of time.

Summary: Financial Analysis are responsible for key month end activities, ensuring accuracy and providing insight, which support the team to produce financial reports. In this role you will ensure the integrity of transactions on financial systems, ensuring good controls and checks are in place to maintain accuracy. In addition you will use the management reports to provide meaningful and insightful analysis for senior managers and decision makers. In this role you would also undertake all month end activities, including approving journals, budget profiling and accurate forecasting, provide explanations for significant changes in forecast and actuals and provide updates on issues and risks to senior managers. You would also be expected to produce high quality reports and insightful management information for senior managers.

You should hold Level 4 qualification with AAT, CCAB, or CIMA or equivalent, or be working towards the qualification.


Role: Commercial Accountant (broadly equivalent to Civil Service HEO)

Salary: £39,454 - £40,842 depending on skills, qualifications, and experience

Summary: As a Commercial Accountant, you will be a vital part of the team that governs existing contracts, helping to report on, manage and govern strategic contracts across the intelligence community. You will be working as part of a cross-functional team, working with Commercial, the business, and Legal teams to get the best from our suppliers and helping to ensure Value for Money.

You will help to ensure that contracts have appropriate financial governance and are let and managed correctly. You will provide accurate and timely MI to Management Boards and Strategic Finance as well as financial assurance of contract variations. You will also ensure accurate and timely business case reporting to Strategic Finance, as well as participating in open book audits. In this role you will provide clarification to contract stakeholders regarding financial practices, government finance rules and governance best practice. You will also foster an inclusive culture within the team, sharing best practice and providing leadership.

You should ideally be a qualified or part qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant and have an understanding of the P2P process. Advanced Excel skills are desirable. You will ideally have experience of working with data and Oracle-based ERP systems to interrogate data and provide reporting.


Role: Financial Accountant (broadly equivalent to Civil Service HEO)

Summary: In this role, you will be expected to perform analysis and interpret data to provide assurance to senior managers over the validity of the data. In addition you will gather supporting information and query data in line with accounting standards and suggest solutions to decision makers. You will also support senior team members in delivery of outputs by analysing the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, challenging transactions where necessary and ensuring the integrity of data collected for external reporting purposes and that good controls and checks are in place to maintain accuracy.

As part of this role, you will also review, analyse, and interpret financial data for use in the annual report and accounts and estimates processes, providing insight for senior managers and decision makers. You will also complete the NAO disclosure checklist challenging where necessary and escalating potential issues to senior managers or decision makers. In addition you will interpret financial data against relevant accounting standards and be able to explain it in a non-technical format.

You should have a Level 4 qualification with AAT, CCAB or CIMA or equivalent, or be working towards a qualification. You should also have some demonstrable financial experience.


Role: Financial Accountant (broadly equivalent to Civil Service EO)

Salary: London: £33,350 – £34,671 depending on skills, qualifications, and experience

Summary: Accounting and Reporting Financial Accountants are expected to support the team in producing accounts and estimates by collating evidence and information, performing monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring data inputs and transfers to systems are actioned. You will also be responsible for maintaining asset registers, performing month end closure activities and inputting data into systems. You will also be expected to performing variance analysis to support financial accounts and Estimates, as well as maintaining finance guidance and chart of accounts.

You should have Level 4 qualification with AAT, CCAB or CIMA or equivalent, or be working towards a qualification.


Role: Senior Finance Business Partner (broadly equivalent to Civil Service Grade 6)

Summary: As a Senior Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for providing financial advice, planning, and reporting across your dedicated remit. You will develop a good understanding of the business area you support and will maintain strong relationships with seniors across the organisation. You will bring insight and influence to bear through effective advice, presentation and communication, ensuring that finance is considered in commercial and operational decisions at all key stages.

Responsibilities include providing strategic advice and analysis on financial impact, performance, and risk to senior stakeholders; providing timely, accurate and clearly communicated financial management information and analysis; supporting new projects, policies, and programmes, ensuring that sound business cases are developed and monitored with a strong commercial focus; and leading a Business Partner team.

You should be CCAB or CIMA qualified (or equivalent) or working towards qualification.  You must have experience in a relevant strategic finance role.
